Playground Committee Gears Up for Phase II

The Cochranton Area Redevelopment Effort (CARE) is ready to begin Phase II of the playground revitalization at Lions Community Park.  This phase includes new sliding boards, a play unit for 3-5 year olds, the addition of ADA approved swings and ground mulching.  The capital campaign has raised approximately $33,000 of the $50,000 goal.  An additional amount of $17,000 will be needed to complete the project.


Several fundraisers are helping with the campaign. There are still “Memorial/Honor Pavers” available for $50 each.  The pavers will be displayed in an area of the park with benches, flowers and trees.  Pavers can be purchased from any CARE Board Member or by filling out a paver order form available at the Cochranton Public Library on Pine St. and the Cochranton Borough office on Adams St. and mailed to CARE.


Raffle tickets for a Green Mountain Daniel Boone Hardwood Pellet Grill w/WIFI Point Control, cover and pellets are currently being sold at Northwest Pharmacy (Meadville), Cochranton Community Pharmacy, Hart’s Farm Equipment (Hwy 285),Cathy’s Beauty Salon (Lippert Rd.) and by CARE board members.  The grill which is on display in the Cochranton Community Complex lobby, N. Franklin St., Cochranton  has a retail value of $925 and was graciously donated by Allan Hart & Sons and the Cochranton Community Pharmacy. Tickets are being sold Ticket options are one for $5 or three for $10.


Our first Cochranton CARE Committee Four Person Golf Scramble will be held at Mt Hope Golf Course in Guys Mills on Sunday August 20.  The $300 per team fee includes golf, cart, food, beverages, line and skill prizes.  If you wish to enter a team please contact Mike Dickson at 814-425-2895.
